Everyone is asking why I sleep so much.
I just want to tell everyone.
In the eye of science, everyone needs at least of 4 hours of UNDISTURBED sleep. Undisturbed as in not waking up, and purely in deep sleep.
There are 4 stages of sleep. I have evidences from my Nursing text book but what I am explaining to you is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep.
Sleep, as I was saying in LAYMAN'S TERM, comes in four stages.
First : The semi conscious sleep. Whereby a person is in light sleep mode. Easily awaken. Some people can fall into deep sleep easily while people like me takes a long time. In fact, I am a super light sleeper so small things like opening of my door (which my dad loves to do - to check if I sneaked out at night) can wake me up, or the fact that my dog loves to lick my leg and the constant messages or phone calls from my phone. Sure, it serves me right for not putting my phone on silent (but I get awaken by vibration as well - and you can say switch it off but there, it leads to the second point) but I have important calls at all the time (you'll never know when someone will commit suicide in the middle of the night and needed some listening ear). This stage of sleep is not sleeping at all and IT DOES NOT REPLENISH YOUR ENERGY LEVEL NOR DID YOUR BODY REPAIR ITSELF.
Second : The deep sleep. Even earthquake don't wake you up. Also known as the snoring stage. Dreams happen then.
Third : I forgot what is it as it is not important.
Four : I fell asleep in lecture so I didn't learn it.
There you have it. I am a long stage one sleeper, so I don't get enough rest.
I never did successfully clock in my 4 hours of UNDISTURBED SLEEP. So, I am heading back to bed to allow my body to repair itself for tomorrow.
Plus, I am a very violent sleeper. I kick and jerk in my sleep all the time and I would hit myself awake. Not a very avid rester, I am.
I think I have explained enough and my brain juices and cells are dying from over thinking and trying to recall what I have studied so long ago.
