Tips on how to score in a pageant.
I had a request on this matter and here are some tips I would like to share to potential queens who are younger, prettier, tall, beautiful, sweet and kind. Here I go and the following are so.
1) Be kind to everyone. You don't know who is going to help you put in nicer words to the judge so you have to be nice to everyone, may it be the cleaners, the sponsors, the other contestants. In a nutshell, just everyone. That doesn't make me (or you, or anyone - for that matter - because I believe others can differentiate between a pure and sincere heart and/or a one with motive. Sure, we all want to win and no one can deny that fact. But the competition got to be fair and justifiable so we can only hope for the best and prepare for the worst outcome. Always remember, never offend anyone, even the hawkers in the food court or the waitress who serves you in the restaurant because you would never know when you need their help.
And that is the only thing which I think helped me score points. Damn, the numbering system didn't really come in handy, does it?
Okay, and perhaps, having a clean record helps too. Because Singaporeans and/or journalists and reporters just have too many free time and they would report on anything juicy. Reason being Singapore is too much of a safe and sound city with low crime rates and people here are boring with only rigid mind due to the demanding and competitive lifestyle for qualifications (don't even get me started on how certificates are just papers to tell employers that one could study and have an analytical mind - due to the tough but universally recognized G.C.E papers - and that it is an essential key to landing you an opportunity to even have an interview with some big multi-national companies). Every small matter, it would hit the headline news!
Face it, you got to agree that EXPERIENCE is bloody important and I believe that is the main ingredient to efficient work! What's more, you spend lesser time in training up the stuff and that can save costs in sending them to training programs. I believe it's the empolyees responsibility to take up part time courses (which are bloody available because Singapore is an educational hub) and upgrade their own skills. All companies are very practical. If you have no qualifications, you can only be at a certain level and you can't proceed from there.
Tip: If you aren't a genius or have poor memory (like me), then you bloody hell work harder than anyone else to stay top in the game! Stop complaining all day long about every single thing like it's never your fault. And, before you shoot your bloody mouth about someone, take a piss and look at the reflection when you stare at it. Are you that good yourself? If you have the brains and is smart, then eat some humble pie! No one would be keen on teaching you stuffs and neither do they want to be your friend (so you are a lonely man, aren't you? With no one to hang out with, it's no wonder you are free enough to comment non-stop about me while hiding being the screen in your dark room. Coward!)
You don't see big cities like China, America reporting on suicidal cases because they happen everyday and these trivial matters are too commonly seen plus they know there are more important things to report on, like the upcoming or potential economy crisis, natural disasters, social issues, so on and so forth!
It's sad to say, but Singaporeans are so stuck up (perhaps its due to the plain fact that they doesn't travel much or see enough as all they know are to work like mad, hours after hours!
OH SHIT! I drifted too far again. I'm not an angry person but this is what happens when one is bored. You just complain non-stop. Did the laundry and folded the clothes. Lazy morning and WHY IS THE TIME PASSING SO SLOW?!?! It's not even the noon yet! Bloody hell. Why did I showered so early? Now I have ample of time with nothing else to do. Shall read a book and log off from the net. My eye sight is getting worse and worse from straining and I HATE TO WEAR SPECTACLES BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A DISTINCT NOSE BRIDGE! THAT BLOODY THING KEEPS SLIDING DOWN MY FACE!
Enough! Getting a grip and going to read a book before taking a short nap!
Wish you girls plenty of luck! Especially those girls I met at the Miss Singapore audition at Intercontinental Hotel on 4th of June. You girls rock! Don't forget this thing, you are all very beautiful and keep that in mind forever!!!
But baby, where they knock you down and out
Is where you're oughta stay
